COMPOSITES FROM JMV INDUSTRIES

CMN-JMV is pioneer in the development of epoxy carbon composite construction favoured by today's high tech sailing boats and multihulls. Its facilities include a 3000 cubic meter oven enabling the construction of hull in excess of 40m and an autoclave of over 50m for the construction of  carbon masts.

Since the company was formed in 1992 as an offshoot of CMN, JMV-Industries has built 10 Open 60s for Vendée Globe competitors.

The Open 60s helped to establish JMV-Industries as a centre of expertise in carbon epoxy racing yacht construction.

The company also has a history of custom yacht construction in these materials illustrated by Mari-Cha IV (now Senso One) an all-carbon-epoxy 45m (147ft) schooner designed by Philippe Briand.

Also on JMV’s list of notable completed projects is the construction of the hull and floats of Banque Populaire V, at 40m the world’s largest and reputedly fastest sailing trimaran to date. Hull, floats and bulkheads of this very hi-tech VPLP design sailing yacht were built using high-modulus fibres and honeycomb cores as used in the aerospace industry.

JMV has also been involved in the construction of the construction of the Lady Barbaretta, a 32m LOA, 14m beam cruising catamaran designed by Chenus, Presles & Associes (CPA).
